We had a great time learning about ball galls today! Galls are bumps in plant stems where flies lay their eggs. Those eggs turn into larvae and then turn into flies!
We saw the dissection of a gall and observed a real larva!
We pretended to be gall larvae by eating snacks in our protective plant stem coats!

For our new animal classifications unit, I would love for families to send in unwanted magazines. We will be using them for a art/science project! Magazines that are animal or outdoor related would be best, but everything helps! On another note, it was great to meet you all at conferences. I'm looking forward to a fun 3rd trimester!
