Halloween Reminder and Retelling

Tomorrow is our Halloween celebration.  If you are sending in something for the party, feel free to drop it off Friday morning, send it with your child, or bring it at 1:30.  Children's costumes can also be sent in the morning, or you may bring it at 1:30 when you arrive for the parade.  We will get dressed at 1:30 and the parade begins at 1:50.  We hope to have snacks while we wait for the parade, but we will have to see about timing.

Today, in math we learned about a new diagram to help us with addition and subtraction called, Part/Part/Total.  Ask your first grader to teach you about this diagram and how dominos help us, too.

In literacy we learned to put post-its in our books when we read something we want to remember to tell our reading partner about.  Today, we practiced retelling our stories (telling the most important parts, in order) by flipping through our post-it pages.  We are fabulous readers!
