Fact Power

We learned about fact power in math today.  Fact power is when you just know 1 digit math facts.  We learned about turn-around facts too.  Ask your first grader to tell you about turn-around facts and why they are so easy! 

We are almost finished reading Charlotte's Web and we are anxiously reading chapters so we can finish before we see the play on Wednesday.  We are looking forward to comparing and contrasting the book and the play. 

Successful readers ask questions before they do any reading. First graders started asking questions after seeing the title of the passage.  Way to go! 

We started a unit about weather in science.  We will be learning about clouds, the water cycle, seasons and different types of weather.
